The Seduction of Color
Starting November 1st, Paper Hammer Gallery will be hosting “The Seduction of Color: Photographs from the Collection of Robert E. Jackson.”
Jackson is a local photography collector whose thoughtfully acquired collection of American snapshots was shown at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. in 2007. He has amassed more than 8,500 images over the course of ten years, drawn to them because of the creativity and artistic merit of the images as well as their documentation of lived history. Our show will feature color photographs from Jackson’s collection. Marquand Books has published a limited edition book with the same title, beautifully bound by Paper Hammer Studio, which will be available for sale at the exhibition. Limited editions of the book feature an original snapshot or Polaroid from Jackson’s collection on the cover and will be available for purchase at the exhibition.
Opening Reception: Thursday, November 1st, 5 – 7 p.m.
Exhibition dates: November 1st to December 29th, 2012
